BCFK's Wish List is to secure funds and services which
will help the foster care children of Broward County in the following ways:
Medical
Program
We are in need of primary care pediatricians to provide Well Child Care Checkups and Sick Visits for children not eligible for Medicaid. In addition, we are in need of the following
services for children in our care:
- Dermatology for children with severe acne
- Nutritionist
Dental
Program
We are in need of dentists for routine dental care for children who do not qualify for Medicaid. In addition, we would greatly appreciate if the following dental services could be provided:
- Dental implants for broken teeth
- Permanent crowns/cavities
- General dental check up's
Opthamology
We are in need of opthamologists for routine opthamologic
care for children who do not qualify for Medicaid. In addition, we
would greatly appreciate if the following opthamologic services could be provided:
- Nice looking glasses for kids and teenagers
- Poly carb lenses and flexible frames for babies
- Contact lenses
Independent Living
- Gift Cards to Wal-Mart to take youth who are aging out of foster care shopping for needed start-up essential items
- Publix Gift cards for young adults who have exited foster care or exiting care to purchase their first groceries
- Metro phone cards with minutes
- Restaurant and movie gift cards to be given as gifts for the Creative Minds Club (poetry and drawings included in the IL newsletter)
- Funding for Prom/homecoming expenses (class ring, yearbook, dress/tuxedo, prom night)
- Funding for graduation expenses (cap, gown, grad night)
- Gifts for teens: Rewards for teens who are doing well in school are providing service to there community
- Mini Laptops
- Desktop computers
Adoption
Gift cards to local restaurants or activity centers to be used during visits between children and new prospective adoptive parents such as:
- AMC and Muvico Movie Gift cards
- Dave and Busters Gift Cards, Boomers, Kabooms
- Game Works Gift Cards
- Gift Certificates to Miami Zoo or Palm Beach Zoo
- Gift Certificates to Discovery Museum of Science and IMAX Theatre
- Gift Certificates to Wannadoo City
- Gift certificates for Family Restaurants: Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc
- Certificates to Build a Bear
Payments
for extracurricular activities for foster children
